Today was a fun fieldwork day. We popped over to Behar Café to sample their cevapi, burek, & coffee, and to check out some of the food items they carry. Behar is a Bosnian restaurant and grocery in Bowling Green, KY that specializes in cooking and selling items important to Bosnian foodways traditions, such as sausage and pita.
Still thinking about all the kimchi we got to try last week! It was such a treat hosting Kyu Frohman of Radcliff, Kentucky to hear her share stories about making and eating kimchi. Frohman demonstrated how to make a cucumber, a radish, and a cabbage kimchi, all of which, we can assure you, were mighty tasty!
On our plates: Fresh tabouleh from Babylon, a halal restaurant in Bowling Green, KY. The restaurant reflects the owners’ Iraqi heritage by serving up popular Middle Eastern dishes.
On our plates: eating falafel today at A Taste of Europe in downtown Bowling Green, Kentucky, a Greek-inspired restaurant owned by Izet Varajic and Sefika Varajic, both originally from Bosnia.
