We are excited to announce the launch of Kentucky Folklife, a multimedia digital publication dedicated to exploring expressive cultures throughout the Commonwealth!
It has actually been live and active for almost a month now, but we are just now getting around to sharing it here.
Grant supported by the National Endowment for the Arts and Kentucky Arts Council, this project has a considerable amount of effort behind it. There are so many people along the way who helped us achieve this vision and we give you all our thanks.
Our first issue features a community-centric mushroom festival, memories of a once-prominent African American high school, a veteran old-time musician, and the changing world of Anabaptist healthcare practices.
Contributors and editors alike have dedicated the last several months to researching and creating content that is engaging, diverse, and wholly representative of Kentucky’s nuanced folkloric traditions. We are proud to share our work with you, and we encourage you to tag along for the ride!
