From the Archives: Juana, an indigenous Mayan from #guatemala, displays a tela that she created. The tela is a style of traditional dress of the Quiche people which is sewn from woven cotton and wool. Juana continues creating these embroidered garments here in #kentucky because they are part of her cultural identity and artistic expression.
